2026 MUSICAL THEATRE TERM 1

Musical Theatre at DDC is designed as a term 1 skills + storytelling block, finishing with a warm, low-pressure parent presentation at the Civic Centre.
Students train in singing, acting, choreography, and ensemble work — and parents get to celebrate their progress in a joyful Week 9 showcase.
🎶 Why Term 1 Is a Skills + Showcase Term
Term 1 is intentionally crafted to give students the pure heart of Musical Theatre — the creativity, collaboration, and confidence-building — without the pressure of a full production.
Across nine weeks, students will:
✨ Build strong foundations in vocals, acting, storytelling, and musicality
✨ Create a mini-script with their peers and bring characters to life
✨ Learn a song-and-dance routine that blends movement, rhythm, and expression
✨ Develop character skills — voice, physicality, intention
✨ Grow confidence through ensemble work and shared creative play
✨ Strengthen performance skills in a supportive environment
✨ Take part in a joyful, low-pressure parent viewing that highlights confidence, growth, and ensemble magic.
🎭 Program Overview
Program Dates: Friday 6 February – Thursday 2 April (Weeks 1–9)
Primary Venue: Denmark Civic Centre
Exceptions: Weeks 3, 7 & 8 will run at Denmark Dance Company Studios
Important Note About Week 9 (Showcase Week)
Due to Civic Centre availability and the public holiday:

The Parent Presentation will be held on Thursday 2 April

At your child’s usual class time

There will be no class on Friday 3 April (Good Friday public holiday)
This ensures all students can share their work in the performance space, with no disruption to the Easter long weekend.

🔹 Junior Musical Theatre (Ages 7-11)
Day: Fridays
Time: 3:15 – 4:15 PM
Location: Civic Centre (Weeks 1–2, 4–5, 9)
DDC Studios: Weeks 3, 7 & 8
Fee
$20/ 1 hour class × 9 weeks = $180
Payment options: Direct Debit (weekly/fortnightly) or upfront invoice.
🔹 Senior Musical Theatre (Ages 12+)
Day: Fridays
Time: 4:30 – 6:30 PM
Location: Civic Centre (Weeks 1–2, 4–5, 9)
DDC Studios: Weeks 3, 7 & 8
Fee
$20/1 hour class × 2 hours × 9 weeks = $360
Payment options: Direct Debit (weekly/fortnightly) or upfront invoice.
